Hon. David Wheen

 

Mr. David Wheen is a former senior official of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) in Australia.

He has extensive experience across a range of key social policy areas of government including migration.  While in DIMIA Mr. Wheen managed key policy areas of: immigration, both permanent and temporary; settlement; citizenship; legislation and border control.

He was the National Coordinator of Family Planning Australia and has also been active in several non profit organizations focussed on the teaching of English to and the settlement of migrants and refugees in the Australian community.

Mr. Wheen is currently Chairperson of the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters which sets national standards for and accredits Translators and Interpreters.
